Is Bybit Available in Russia? (2026)

Russia is not named in Bybit’s list of excluded jurisdictions — unlike the United States, Singapore or Canada. What the list does name are four Russian-controlled regions of Ukraine plus Sevastopol. Sanctions screening still applies to every account, so eligibility is decided at sign-up, not by the country line alone.

Germany is covered by the EU’s MiCA regime, under which exchanges must meet authorisation and consumer-protection rules. Confirm Bybit’s current EU product list during onboarding.

Does Bybit list Russia as excluded?

No. The official Service Restricted Countries page (Bybit’s own stamp: last updated 6 August 2026) cites Section 11.3 of its Platform Terms and names the United States, the Chinese Mainland, Hong Kong, Singapore, Canada, North Korea, Cuba, Iran, Uzbekistan, Sevastopol, Sudan and Syria — plus the «Russian-controlled regions of Ukraine», which Bybit itself lists as Crimea, Donetsk, Rostov and Luhansk. Russia as a country does not appear on that list.

What still limits access

Two things sit above the country line. First, every account passes sanctions screening against international lists, and an individual match blocks access regardless of country. Second, the European entity Bybit EU GmbH is authorised only for the EEA — its MiCA passport in ESMA’s register covers 29 EEA states, and Russia is not among them, so Russian users are not served by the EU platform.

Payment rails are a separate matter from platform access: card and bank routes for Russian users are limited by the banks and payment providers, not by the exchange’s country list.

How to check your own case

Open the sign-up flow and start verification: the platform decides eligibility there, and that answer is the only one that binds. If registration is refused, an exchange that is licensed for your region is the right move — not a workaround, which breaks the terms and can freeze funds.

Frequently asked questions

Is Bybit banned in Russia?

No. Russia is not named in Bybit's excluded-jurisdictions list as of 6 August 2026. The list names four Russian-controlled regions of Ukraine — Crimea, Donetsk, Rostov and Luhansk — plus Sevastopol.

Which regions does Bybit actually exclude?

In Bybit's own wording: the Russian-controlled regions of Ukraine, currently including Crimea, Donetsk, Rostov and Luhansk, and separately Sevastopol.

Can Russians use Bybit EU?

Bybit EU GmbH is authorised under MiCA for the EEA and passported into 29 EEA states. Russia is not an EEA state, so the EU platform does not serve Russian users.

Why might my account be refused anyway?

Every account passes sanctions screening against international lists. A screening match blocks access regardless of which country you are in.

Is a VPN a solution?

No. Masking your location breaks the platform's terms and is a common reason for frozen withdrawals. If a platform will not serve you, use one that is licensed for your region.
