Is BloFin Available in the Netherlands? (2026)
Not under EU rules. BloFin is absent from ESMA’s register of MiCA-authorised providers (checked in the register itself). The Dutch regulator applies MiCA in full since the transition ended on 1 July 2026, so an unauthorised platform cannot serve residents. Bybit EU GmbH is on the register.
Is BloFin available in the Netherlands right now?
Yes. The Netherlands is absent from the 43 Restricted Locations in clause 6.1 of BloFin’s Terms of Use of 3 July 2026, so a Dutch resident can register, verify if they want to and trade. That matters here more than in most markets, because the Netherlands is one of only two Western European countries that KuCoin bans by name in Article 17(5) of its own Terms.
Read the wording before you rely on it. Clause 6.1 says the platform may not be used by anyone who is “resident of, or domiciled in” a Restricted Location. Residence is where you live now; domicile is the permanent home a legal system attributes to you, and it does not reset because you rented a flat abroad. Citizenship is never mentioned — the words citizen, national and passport do not appear in the Terms at all.
The whole list, with the reason we attach to each entry, is in our BloFin restricted countries guide.
Why the Netherlands is still a grey area
Because not being banned by an exchange is not the same as being licensed to serve you. Since 30 December 2024 the EU’s MiCA regulation has required a crypto-asset service provider authorisation to serve clients in the bloc, and the Dutch supervisor is the AFM. BloFin’s Terms name no EU authorisation at all. ⚠ Not confirmed — verify against ESMA’s register before you deposit.
Two consequences follow. First, there is no Dutch entity to complain to: the Terms route disputes to arbitration in Hong Kong under HKIAC rules, three arbitrators, Hong Kong law. Second, the protections you would expect from a licensed venue — asset segregation rules, complaints handling, a supervisor with the power to intervene — are not in the package.
What Dutch users actually get on BloFin
An account without documents, and futures that are not throttled. Basic (Lv 0) is the default on registration per BloFin’s identity-verification article — email or phone, no ID — with a 20,000 USDT withdrawal ceiling per rolling 24 hours. Verification raises the ceiling and nothing else.
| KYC level | What you hand over | 24h withdrawal limit | Futures |
|---|---|---|---|
| Basic (Lv 0) | Email or phone only — no documents | 20,000 USDT | No limit |
| Personal info (Lv 1) | ID, passport or licence + selfie | 1,000,000 USDT | No limit |
| Address proof (Lv 2) | Proof of address | 2,000,000 USDT | No limit |
The product is derivatives-first. BloFin’s public market API listed 476 live perpetual contracts when we checked it on 25 August 2026. Only two of them — BTC-USDT and ETH-USDT — run at 150x; four sit at 125x, fourteen at 100x, and the rest at 75x or below. Base futures fees are 0.02% maker and 0.06% taker.
Netherlands at a glance: who takes you, who does not
The Dutch map is the inverse of the German one. KuCoin, which accepts Germany, bans the Netherlands; Bitget, which bans Germany, leaves the Netherlands off its prohibited list but has no MiCA licence either.
| Exchange | Netherlands status | Source we read | EU licence |
|---|---|---|---|
| BloFin | ✓ Available | Terms of Use, 3 Jul 2026 | ⚠ Not confirmed — verify |
| KuCoin | ✗ Restricted | Terms of Use, Art. 17(5), 29 Jul 2026 | EU entity barred from starting |

How to open a BloFin account from the Netherlands
The mechanics take about ten minutes; the decisions take longer. Register honestly, fund in crypto, keep position sizes sane and keep your own records for the Belastingdienst.
- Register with an email or phone number — Basic (Lv 0), no documents, futures already open.
- Transfer crypto in from a wallet you control. A euro card or SEPA route is ⚠ Not confirmed — check the live deposit screen.
- Decide on verification deliberately: Lv 1 lifts the daily withdrawal ceiling from 20,000 to 1,000,000 USDT, and hands over your ID.
- Keep your own trade export. Dutch tax on crypto holdings falls on you, not on an offshore exchange. ⚠ Not confirmed — verify with a Dutch tax adviser.
- If AFM-supervised access is the point, use a MiCA-licensed platform instead.

Frequently asked questions
Is BloFin available in the Netherlands in 2026?
Yes. The Netherlands is not among the 43 Restricted Locations in clause 6.1 of BloFin’s Terms of Use dated 3 July 2026, so Dutch residents can register and trade. BloFin holds no MiCA authorisation we could find, so the AFM does not supervise it.
Why does KuCoin ban the Netherlands but BloFin does not?
Because they took different routes into the EU. KuCoin set up an Austrian entity and names France and the Netherlands in Article 17(5) of its Terms while that entity is barred from starting operations. BloFin never built an EU entity and simply keeps serving both markets from offshore.
Is it illegal for a Dutch resident to use BloFin?
Using an unlicensed offshore venue is not an offence for you as a private user, but it is not neutral either: you lose AFM supervision, EU complaint routes and the safeguards a MiCA licence carries. Disputes go to arbitration in Hong Kong under HKIAC rules.
Does BloFin require KYC for Dutch users?
No, not to open an account. Basic (Lv 0) needs only an email or phone number and allows withdrawals up to 20,000 USDT per 24 hours. Lv 1 verification raises that to 1,000,000 USDT, and futures trading is available at every level.
Which exchanges are MiCA-licensed for the Netherlands?
Bybit is the clearest case among the big offshore venues: Bybit EU GmbH holds a MiCAR licence granted by Austria’s FMA and passported across the EEA. Check ESMA’s register for the current list rather than trusting any marketing page, including ours.
What leverage does BloFin offer Dutch traders?
Up to 150x on two pairs only. On 25 August 2026 BloFin’s public market API listed 476 live perpetual contracts, with BTC-USDT and ETH-USDT at 150x, four markets at 125x and fourteen at 100x. At 150x a move of about 0.67% against you wipes the margin.
