Is BloFin Available in Germany? (2026)

Verified in BaFin register Last updated: September 2026 4 sources linked

Not under EU rules. BloFin is absent from ESMA’s register of MiCA-authorised providers (checked in the register itself), and since the MiCA transition ended on 1 July 2026 an unauthorised platform cannot serve German residents. Bybit EU GmbH and KuCoin EU Exchange GmbH are both on that register.

Is BloFin available in Germany right now?

Yes. Germany is not one of the 43 Restricted Locations named in clause 6.1 of BloFin’s Terms of Use, dated 3 July 2026, so a German resident can open an account, trade perpetual futures and withdraw. That is the opposite of Bitget, which names Germany as a prohibited country in its own Terms of 14 August 2026.

Read the wording before you rely on it. Clause 6.1 says the platform may not be used by anyone who is “resident of, or domiciled in” a Restricted Location. Residence is where you live now; domicile is the permanent home a legal system attributes to you, and it does not reset because you rented a flat abroad. Citizenship is never mentioned — the words citizen, national and passport do not appear in the Terms at all.

Absence from a list is not an authorisation, though. The same Terms name no European licence, and the full roll-call of blocked jurisdictions is in our BloFin restricted countries guide.

The part German users should read twice: no MiCA licence

BloFin does not claim an EU licence, and we could not find one. Since 30 December 2024 the EU’s Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCA) has required a crypto-asset service provider authorisation to serve clients in the bloc, supervised in Germany by BaFin. ⚠ Not confirmed — verify against ESMA’s public register yourself before you fund an account.

The practical difference is where you stand when something goes wrong. On a MiCA-licensed venue you have a named EU entity, a supervisor and a complaints route. On BloFin, the Terms send every claim to arbitration in Hong Kong under HKIAC rules, with three arbitrators and Hong Kong law governing the clause — a process measured in months and five-figure costs, not a form on a regulator’s website.

⚠ Using an unlicensed offshore venue is not an offence for you as a private user, but it removes the protections a licensed one carries: no BaFin supervision, no EU deposit or investor compensation scheme, and no German-language complaints body.

What German users actually get on BloFin

Two things Germany rarely gets elsewhere: an account that opens without documents, and unrestricted futures. BloFin’s identity-verification article sets Basic (Lv 0) as the default on registration — email or phone number, nothing else — with a 20,000 USDT cumulative withdrawal limit per 24 hours. Verification only lifts that ceiling; it never unlocks the trading product.

KYC levelWhat you hand over24h withdrawal limitFutures
Basic (Lv 0)Email or phone only — no documents20,000 USDTNo limit
Personal info (Lv 1)ID, passport or licence + selfie1,000,000 USDTNo limit
Address proof (Lv 2)Proof of address2,000,000 USDTNo limit

The product is derivatives-first. BloFin’s public market API listed 476 live perpetual contracts when we checked it on 25 August 2026. Only two of them — BTC-USDT and ETH-USDT — run at 150x; four sit at 125x, fourteen at 100x, and the rest at 75x or below. Base futures fees are 0.02% maker and 0.06% taker.

⚠ Leverage cuts both ways, and the arithmetic is brutal: at 150x a move of roughly 0.67% against your position is enough to wipe the margin behind it. Most accounts that blow up on an offshore futures venue do it on size, not on the exchange.

Germany at a glance: who takes you, who does not

Germany is the market where the five big offshore venues split hardest. Bybit is the only one of them with an EU licence; Bitget blocks the country outright; BloFin and KuCoin accept German users from offshore entities with no EU authorisation between them.

How to open a BloFin account from Germany

Five steps, and the third one is where German users lose money. Register with your real country of residence, fund in crypto, size positions for 150x reality, and keep your own records — BloFin issues no German tax statement.

  1. Register with an email or phone number. Basic (Lv 0) needs no documents and still opens futures.
  2. Fund the account by transferring crypto from a wallet you control. A euro card or SEPA on-ramp is ⚠ Not confirmed — check what is live on the deposit screen.
  3. Start on low leverage. The 150x headline applies to exactly two pairs, and 0.67% against you is the whole margin.
  4. Export your trade history yourself. German tax on private crypto disposals falls on you, not on the exchange, and an offshore venue will not file anything with the Finanzamt for you. ⚠ Not confirmed — verify with a Steuerberater for your own situation.
  5. If EU supervision matters more than the product, use a MiCA-licensed venue instead — that is a different search, not a compromise.
⚠ Do not use a VPN to get around a country block. Clause 6.1 is a promise you make about where you live and where you are domiciled, not about your IP address, and exchanges routinely freeze balances when a breach surfaces during verification or a withdrawal.

Frequently asked questions

Is BloFin available in Germany in 2026?

Yes. Germany does not appear among the 43 Restricted Locations in clause 6.1 of BloFin’s Terms of Use dated 3 July 2026, so German residents can register and trade. The Terms name no EU licence, so you are trading on an offshore platform without BaFin supervision.

Does BloFin have a MiCA licence for the EU?

Not that we could find, and BloFin does not claim one in its Terms. MiCA has required a crypto-asset service provider authorisation to serve EU clients since 30 December 2024. Check ESMA’s public register and BaFin’s database yourself before funding an account.

Do I need KYC to use BloFin from Germany?

No, not to start. Basic (Lv 0) is the default on registration and needs no documents, with a 20,000 USDT cumulative withdrawal limit per 24 hours. Verification at Lv 1 raises that ceiling to 1,000,000 USDT; futures access is not throttled at any level.

What leverage can I use on BloFin?

Up to 150x, but only on two pairs. BloFin’s public market API listed 476 live perpetual contracts on 25 August 2026, with BTC-USDT and ETH-USDT the only two at 150x, four at 125x and fourteen at 100x. Base futures fees are 0.02% maker and 0.06% taker.

Is a VPN a way around exchange country blocks?

No, and it makes things worse. Clause 6.1 turns on residence and domicile, not on your IP address, so a VPN does not change the promise you make at registration. Breaches usually surface at verification or withdrawal, when your balance is already on the platform.

Which exchange in Germany is actually EU-licensed?

Of the big offshore five, Bybit is the one with an EU entity: Bybit EU GmbH holds a MiCAR licence granted by Austria’s FMA and passported across the EEA. Bitget prohibits Germany outright, while BloFin and KuCoin accept German users from offshore entities.

Start with an exchange that does not block Germany

Germany is absent from BloFin’s 43-location restricted list, and Basic (Lv 0) opens without documents at a 20,000 USDT daily withdrawal ceiling. There is no EU licence behind it — size accordingly.
