Is KuCoin Available in Nigeria? (2026)
Yes — Nigeria is not named in Article 17(5) of KuCoin’s Terms of Use, last updated 29 July 2026, so Nigerian residents can register and trade. Two things to plan for: identity verification is mandatory under Article 15, and we could not confirm a live naira deposit rail, so most people arrive with USDT bought elsewhere.
Is KuCoin available in Nigeria right now?
Yes. We read the full text of KuCoin’s Terms of Use on 25 August 2026: Nigeria appears nowhere in it, including in the Article 17(5) list of Restricted Locations. Nigerian residents can register, verify and trade spot, margin and futures.
Article 17(5) is the only official list, and it is short: the United States and its territories, Singapore, mainland China and Hong Kong, Malaysia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Ontario and British Columbia in Canada, France, the Netherlands, and five occupied regions of Ukraine. Sanctioned countries are not named at all — Article 17(6) handles them by screening instead.
One caveat that catches Nigerian users specifically: Article 17(6) makes you undertake that you are not on any sanctions list, and KuCoin screens for that rather than publishing a country list. An absent country name is not a green light for an individual account.
Nigeria’s crypto rules in 2026
Crypto is regulated, not banned. The Investments and Securities Act 2025, which repealed the Investments and Securities Act No. 29 of 2007, brought digital assets and investment contracts inside the perimeter of Nigeria’s Securities and Exchange Commission. That replaced years of ambiguity with a rulebook.
It does not follow that every offshore platform is locally registered. KuCoin’s Terms name no Nigerian authorisation, and we could not find it on the SEC’s register of operators. ⚠ Not confirmed — verify with the SEC if local registration matters to you — and remember that Article 101 puts the contract under Turks and Caicos law, not Nigerian law.
How Nigerians fund a KuCoin account
Assume the crypto route until you see otherwise on screen. We could not confirm a live naira deposit or an NGN P2P market on KuCoin in August 2026 ⚠ Not confirmed. Check the deposit page inside your own account.
The reliable path is two-step: buy USDT with naira where an NGN market is documented (Bitget announced zero-fee naira P2P in February 2026, reported by Punch, BusinessDay and ThisDay), then transfer the USDT in. On any P2P desk, two habits protect you: release crypto only after the naira has cleared in your own bank app, and keep the whole conversation inside the platform’s escrow and chat.
KYC is not optional here. Article 15 of the Terms requires your name, email, mobile number, nationality and ID number at registration, and KuCoin’s own referral programme terms are written around the day “a new user registers and completes KYC verification”. Article 38 lets KuCoin terminate an account whose verification was never completed if it goes unused for a year.

One practical detail if you use anyone’s referral link, ours included: per KuCoin’s published programme terms the referrer earns 25% of your trading fees from the day your KYC is approved to the end of that month, commissions run for 365 days after your registration and not for life, and they stop entirely once an invited user reaches VIP Lv. 3. The programme is also closed to residents of Belgium, France and the Netherlands.
How to get started on KuCoin from Nigeria
Register, verify, fund through a documented naira market elsewhere, then move the USDT across. Keep your own records at every step.
- Register with your real Nigerian details — Article 15 asks for nationality and ID number.
- Complete identity verification first; leaving it undone limits the account and, under Article 38, can cost you the account entirely after a year of disuse.
- Buy USDT with naira on a platform with a documented NGN market, then transfer it to KuCoin.
- On P2P, release only after the naira has cleared in your bank app, and stay inside escrow and chat.
- Keep your trade export — Nigerian tax and reporting rules apply to you personally, not to an offshore exchange.

Frequently asked questions
Is KuCoin available in Nigeria in 2026?

Can I deposit naira directly on KuCoin?
